Born in 1972, I never left my pens since I was a tiny boy, drawing everywhere I could — on the back of book covers and on every piece of paper I could find. In my teenage years, I discovered graffiti and hip-hop culture, which definitely forged me and drove me to Liege Fine Arts Academy, where I graduated in photography and publicity. The following years I spent increasing my graphic design skills and learning web technologies in the mid-90s to become a Flash animator and web designer, always training my eye for new graphic composition.

During that period I continued to practice my favorite sports — finswimming and mountain biking. But sport has always been much more than just practice to me. Over the years I have experienced almost every role it has to offer: athlete, coach, international judge, federation commission member, club owner and event organizer. This 360° immersion in the sporting world gives me today a unique and global vision when I step onto a competition venue — I don’t just see the action, I understand every layer behind it.

After a while, I had the chance to have 2 fantastic daughters who became great swimmers very early. This was my opportunity to pick up my camera again, shooting their performances and training my eye and sense of composition behind a lens.
Today, sport, art and photography are the three pillars of my life — passions I blend together to tell stories through the powerful sports moments I capture in the eyes of the athletes. My work is a constant search for an artistic approach to sports photography, where every image goes beyond the performance to become a visual statement.
